Although the bulk of the sea traffic docks at Tanjung Priok these days, a few of the smaller vessels, particularly some picturesque wooden schooners, still can in at this eight-hundred-year-old port. When visit Sunda Kelapa, you might also want to consider taking small boat tour around the port area, which provide you with alternative angles for photos and give you different perspective of th old port area. – Photographed by AIA SP Legacy Singapore”

One of the most regularly observed rituals is the Hindu ceremony of Odalan. Odalan is a festival to observe a temple’s anniversary. Most of the people observe Odalan for religious reasons rather than an occasion for merriment. The process of Odalan in a private temple usually lasts all day. The essentials of the ritual are a Hindu priest, gamelan players, offerings, dancers and meals for the congregation members.

“Here’s a series of photos taken in Jakarta for 16 hours before Desmond, Wee Yang and Bao Lin stash themselves away in a private island for their first ever Discovery Scuba Dive Trip. Three things that they love to experience in this Metropolitan City: The adventure, the humbling and the delicious. All they wanted were more local tours and variety of local foods.

With new friends, they had so much fun exploring the city with local bus and motorbike. They chatted all day talking about food and comparing each food they ordered. We noticed the three kept melting during their day tour to Bank Museum and Fatahillah Square. They CAN’T stand the heat, but they CAN stand the local hot food! Hey-ho! We couldn’t believe to find a fellow foodie as crazy as them. They got us amaze especially when the three happily clearing the super hot chilli for Bakso (Meat Ball Soup). Very cool!

Enjoy their series of Jakarta City Tour photos and apologise for some blurry because we struggled to hold the camera while we had so much laugh and shaking like how they shaking Jakarta. Hee! – Photographed by Desmond Cheng & Neo Wee Yang”

Rich in history and culture dates back to the eighteenth century, and its magnificent palaces, temples and shrines are testament to that. What about the local markets and avenues milling with people and picking up art and craft lovingly created by Javanese craftsmen and painters? Come and experience it yourself! – Photographed by Nicholas Tan”
